Active Pane visual distinction

In dual pane mode both panes look almost the same. The only difference I see is the thin amber bar above the path name in the active pane's current tab. It is not an "eye catcher".

I also have the "Toggle Active Pane" button which indicates the active pane number. This is not an eye catcher either.

Is there a way to better highlight the active pane title/tab bar (ala FreeCommander or xplorer2)?
