PDF: Info Panel Preview vs. Floating preview

I noticed that I can preview Pdf files in info panel (obviously via something that is installed on my machine and is used by XYplorer), but not in the floating preview ("FAILED loading..."), using 11.00.0011.

This fact apparently has nothing to do with the last beta - it is the same in 11.00 clean installation (there with F11, which invokes full screen preview, but the effect is the same).

Any ideas?

You currently get "FAILED loading" when your system does not support PDF thumbnails. In v11.00.0012 this will work a little different.

A later version (11.20) will support viewing PDFs in the FP like in the IP.

Wait for v11.00.0012. Note that you cannot have the Floating Preview open AND the Info Panel Preview at the same time showing a different sort (shell vs browser) of preview for the same file.

on my system, launching the app to view the file is considerably faster than using the preview in the info pane or (when it works) the full screen preview. I don't understand why this is a "feature". One click instead of two?

that exactly why it's a feature -no need for other app. as to speed on your system- it may differ from PC to PC, and XY is not an image-viewer originally.

If you are talking about PDF: this uses the shell preview for PDFs currently. The speed cannot be influenced. Another way to do (like in the Info Panel) it will be added in a later version.
