Clear find options

Post by rodviking »

Hi there,

I just started using XYplorer, but I enjoy it very much already.

There's something I was looking for at the documentation and this forum but I couldn't find an answer, so I decided to post in a new thread:

Is there an easy way to clear _all_ the search options in the Find window? The only way I found so far was to create a template called "blank search" and load it, but I gotta confess I would prefer to have a button or a shortcut to make it fast, such as CTRL-ALT-F.

Besides that, I would like to have all the search options back to default (i.e. blank) when I open XYplorer, but the only way I found to do this would be by disabling the "Save settings on exit" but that's not a got idea for obvious reasons :)

- Rodrigo

PS: OK now let me "cheat" a bit and add one more question in this post: is it possible to add custom buttons to the toolbar, for example to execute a predefined .bat file in my system?

I think it has been asked before, and I did not do it for some reason which I cannot remember right now   In this moment I find it a good idea! :)

That would not look good when you startup with a search (which you will do when you closed with a search), because the search options not only control but also reflect the nature of the current search.
It's one of XY's strengths and prides to start up exactly as closed down.

You mean a button that launches a shell command that you can define? You will get that via the catalog (which will be able to do almost anything you can dream of...), and then have access to it via definable keyboard shortcuts or aliases. I don't plan customizable buttons currently but I already here the call for it. You are just the first one...
