How to get a better viewing of a folder's neighbours?
Is there a way to have the currently opened folder to always stay in the middle of the tree so i can view what's in the vicinity, especially when the catalog is enabled?

Yes, there are 2 tweaks here. I suggest you set them to 3 for starters:
TreeRowForAutoScroll=3
TreeRowForDblClickScroll=3
TreeRowForAutoScroll=3
TreeRowForDblClickScroll=3

I tried them with value six but it seems it just works from top to bottom.
It would be great if the tweak could secondarily do attempts to respect a minimum distance from bottom to top too.

Well, the factory default is TreeRowForAutoScroll=2 and it seems to be fine for everybody but you.
