Hello
When I installed the first version with Quick name search, the results were opened in a new tab. Now, after the two last versions it opens the results in the same tab. What's changed? How can I force XYPlorer to open the results in a new tab?

So, atm you can't show them in a different tab.v10.90.0412 - 2012-04-21 14:00
* Quick Name Search: Now the search results of a QNS are always
displayed in the current tab, irrespective of "Configuration |
Find Files | Show search results in".
Btw Don, I find that annoying as well. I have a locked tab as my first tab in a pane
and replacing it with a quick search result is... §$%&""§$%!

At least there should be a toggle to clear the filter. Now what I have to do is to go to the upper level and reopen the folder where I was.

That it happens on a locked tab is a bug.highend wrote:So, atm you can't show them in a different tab.v10.90.0412 - 2012-04-21 14:00

Concerning unlocked tabs. Well, I'm open for discussion. I changed it in v10.90.0412 - 2012-04-21 14:00 because I thought it more natural to run the quick search in the current tab. Wrong thinking? (Please don't tell me to make it configurable. I want a decision, not an option.)

Is F5 good enough for you, or are you in favor of a special command "Back to Browse"?

Unfortunately, i think it may need to be a uesr choice as some will like this way and some will hate it...for me, I always expect any/all search results to only use the one "search results" tab I have per pane...If I didn't want that, then I'd not have set Config to such...and thus, that Config option shouldn't be limited to having only certain types of searches respect it.admin wrote:Concerning unlocked tabs. Still spending WAY TOO much time here! But it's such a pleasure helping XY be a treasure!

I agree to the latter and will change it back.j_c_hallgren wrote:Unfortunately, i think it may need to be a uesr choice as some will like this way and some will hate it...for me, I always expect any/all search results to only use the one "search results" tab I have per pane...If I didn't want that, then I'd not have set Config to such...and thus, that Config option shouldn't be limited to having only certain types of searches respect it.admin wrote:Concerning unlocked tabs.
