It is a common windows tweak to run programs from the run command-line (win-key+R). I use this for all my common tasks/programs and ofcourse i wanted to incorporate it for XYplorer too.
Before starting using this tweak i had to make XYplorer my default file manager (see how to do it). (Thanks to Jacky).
First, i made a folder called "RUN" (you can name it anything) in the XYplorer directory and placed this path in system variables's path like this:
Right-click 'my computer' and click properties > Advanced> Environmental variable> System variables> click on 'Path' and then 'edit' and place the path "C:\Program Files\XYplorer\RUN" (without quotes) here.
Now, i can place any* folder shortcuts (.lnk) inside this RUN folder. (Dont forget to rename the shortcuts to shorter names). Now, typing any shortcut name in the run command-line opens that folder in new tab in XY. [Eg: For me typing "xy" (without quotes and .lnk) will open xyplorer folder]. Isnt that coool.
(* = except "my computer" and "my documents" which for me dont open in XY)
