Very happy new convert!

I have been using Magellan file explorer for a long time and continued using it with Win7 even thought I new it was not up to the task. Finally I decided to look for an alternative. Luckly it did not take long to discover XYp and I have been blown away.
That much so I purchased a lifetime licence within 30 minutes of using the trial.
I am sure I will be talking to the converted here on this forum, but I could'nt help myself.
This is truelly a very cleaver piece of software. In a couple of days I have been able to do so much sorting of my network drives and along the way discovered and set up custom toolbars and UDC's (especally setting up Winzip to autoextract files to a current folder, brillant). I will be looking into catelogues and scripts next.

For now thought, Just a big thank you to Don.

I too came from a long relationship with a mediocre file manager (see my "From the Beginning (a running review)" series of posts in this forum and you can follow my discovery of XYplorer features) and berated myself for settling, once I found XYplorer - a REAL file manager.

So far I have not found anything I couldn't do when and how I wanted to do it. The one feature that wasn't offered was quickly added when I requested it.

I have now gotten several UDC's and some simple scripts going as well as my own tree setup in the catalog. What a brillant inovation that is.

A newly discovered feature for me is the internal quick viewer. Suggest anyone look at this if they have not already seen it.

Now for me, XY has changed the way I work with a PC so much and there is no going back.

I fully agree with Trasd! Hopefully not only will you love XY more, you'll fall in love with the gang that hangs out here in the forum...as you can tell by my post count, I'm totally addicted to it!

Given that the internal quick viewer is something that is fairly typical of FM's, and may not be perfect in all cases based on some wish posts I've seen, I'd suggest you look at things strictly unique to XY, such as MDBU (mouse down blow up) and Mini Tree, etc.

Thanks Guys for the welcome and encouragement. I have started looking into scripts and soon discovered the amazing job done by 'serendipity' with his/her Disk Manager.

I loaded ver 4.1 and it now appears in my Catalog list and will be used very often. When I saw the number of views I knew it was something good.

AFAIK, serendipity was a guy the last time we checked...he was previously known as 'surrender' so if you see that id, it's same person...we have very few females here, unfortunately.

No, except when someone says his/her which asks the question in a way...or to avoid saying the wrong gender in a post when referring to someone else since it's not always as easy to write something gender neutral.

We are all people. I don't care if the other person has tits or a giant... other thing; and I will not make my words fit it.

And i see there is some misunderstanding here. As far as i understood, JC merely mentioned to the poster that I was a guy and that there are not many women in this forum. I would not read it as anything more than that.

Exactly! And because we don't have many females on this forum, I wouldn't want to refer to one of them as a 'him' unless it's by accident because many of them would be greatly offended by it and rightly so...same as if I or Don were referred to as 'her"...

For example, I might typically say: "what he wants to do is x-y-z" -- I simply find that easier/quicker to type than saying "what he/she wants" or "what nickname wants"...but if I know poster was female, I'm going to say she instead obviously.
