Drag and drop from WINSCP

Post by n37 »

Hello, I've purchased your program, now I can make a request which I find absolutely essential.

Drag and drop from WINSCP to xyplorer window.

Please do this, I need this.

Thank you.

Hi,

does it work when you untick Configuration | Extended | Custom drag and drop context menu and drag with the right mouse?

Thank you for your reply, un/ticking that option does not affect this problem. Please see Youtube video for depiction of problem.

I should note, drag and drop TO Winscp works fine.

1. In your video, did you also try to drag with the right mouse button?
2. There seems to be a shell extension to enable drag from WinSCP: http://winscp.net/eng/docs/dragext

1) I tried with both buttons, with both options.
2) The shell extension does not work, however it does work with Xyplorer if I use the "temporary folder" method of Winscp.

Does this mean your problem is solved?

Kind of, during large transfers I have to wait a second time for the files to copy from temporary folder to destination folder.

Hello,

I'm in need of the "Drag and drop from WinSCP" function too and find absolutely essential too. It still doesn't work with XYplorer.

I already installed the shell extension to enable drag from WinSCP. And it works with any other explorer like MS Windows Explorer, Xplorer2, Directory Opus, etc. but unfortunately NOT with XYplorer.

Is there any chance to get it working in your new beta versions?

According to the posts above the issue has been solved or at least there is a work around. Did you try this?

You are talking about the "temporary folder" method of WinSCP? Yes, this method works.

You don't plan to support the "Drag and drop" shell extension from WinSCP? It has some advantages; that's why they developed this shell extension.

Yes, but I cannot do it (unless with an extreme effort which would conflict with other things on my list). I wonder why it does not work. XY generally supports d+d, of course. WINSCP apparently does something quite unusual.

Maybe. But MS Explorer, Xplorer2 and DOpus are working with it.

I was curious and installed:
WinSCP.exe, 6.479.984 bytes, 24.07.2012 19:30:56, ver 4.3.9.1817

Tried D+D and it worked with XY! (XP SP3). :?
