I don't know if there are any "real" standard, but when it comes to this there seems actually to be 2 different way of doing it.admin wrote:Not only Photoshop. "Windows" is the standard label for exactly this stuff.j_c_hallgren wrote:However, taking a look at Adobe Photoshop Elements, it uses "Window" for similar menu items...so...maybe 'as is' is best?
And the first one, that seems to me the mostly used "standard", is that "Window" gets all MDI related stuff (Cascade, Title, Arrange, window list, etc) while what's hidden/shown (toolbar, statusbar, etc) is actually found under the "View" menu...
I say this is the mostly used because in all soft I just checked (Explorer, Office, PSP, CuteFTP, Maxthon, etc) that's how it goes.
Hence why i suggested to rename "Window" to something like "Layout/Display", as I think this could sound more obvious of what options are to be found here, while for many people "Window" usually is a menu restricted to multi-windows or related options.
