Rotate of image in preview? For JPG/BMP, etc.

I hate to ask about this as I presume that it would be a large amount of work, even if some freeware/shareware DLL's that could help are available, but:

I have some pix that I took with digital cam...they're in landscape orientation but to be viewed/compared, would be vastly easier to read (pix contain writing) if they were rotated 90 deg right/left...

Am I asking "for the moon" here? Yes, I can view them via Picasa and/or Irfanview, etc and rotate that way...but using XY to determine which pix is worth keeping (and copying/backing up) is somewhat handicaped by lack of a rotate in preview.

Oh, that's easy. Actually I have already written the code some time ago, but was distracted by other things... which may happen again this time... so remind me again later...
