Searching multiple directories

Post by Stretto »

I have several folders in different parent folders(e.g., drives) that I would like to search all simultaneously and easily and repeatedly. Right now I have to use multiple tabs and search individually.

Can XYplorer handle this directly? Or maybe someone has a script?

I'd like to use XYplorer's search interface but simply have it work on multiple directories and have some way to not have to set up the directory list every time.

You could think of these directories representing an address book and I have to search in it several times a day. I cannot combine the directories for various reasons. I could setup shell links and have it work but I do not really want to do that.

I can use a semicolon in the locations to separate the directories but I need a simple way to put in it there. Possibly a script and custom button?

In fact, it would be nice to have another tab on or something in the properties window that allows one to setup commonly used locations or something similar.

Would Search Templates (Edit > Search Templates) work for you?
