Position of split between tree & catalog lost when IP us

Post by j_c_hallgren »

So...I just FINALLY got around to trying the Catalog out! :D
But...It keeps getting reduced to minimal size... :?
Am I missing something real obvious?

I start with IP & Catalog not showing...and High tree=off...and then show the Catalog...drag the split up so I can see the full Catalog and my four items in it...then max the Info Panel to do whatever...when I hide the IP, the Catalog is minimized so only one line shows...now it becomes almost useless, so is this intended to be this way or not?

I realize the Cat has to scrunched vertically while IP is max'd but I'd like it to be able to remember and return back to MY desired split location when I hide IP...
Still spending WAY TOO much time here! But it's such a pleasure helping XY be a treasure!

Well, XY is plastic and elastic.
When you drag the info panel size up and down you see that the catalog keeps its size stable while the tree adapts until it can no more: then the catalog adapts. This is not reversible.

But use High Tree and your soul is saved!

Well, then I guess that means that for now, I won't be able to really use Catalog..
Because using High Tree with max IP makes the preview image (without any key/mouse action) still too small for my needs... :(

And as I stated before, IF XY was able to save the size of the Cat and/or the location of split line when IP is minimized such that when IP is max'd and then min'd again, it could be restored, that would, IMHO, be a very handy improvment!

Yes, man. It's cool. Just implemented it. Will help you to get over the keep-focused-item-visible-when-enlarging-the-info-panel thing

:D :D Just now had time to install and try this out! I realize that it may have been some extra work to implement, but it REALLY DOES make it much easier to use the Catalog!

Now we can have the Cat showing enough items to make it practical and bounce in/out of InfoPanel without losing it! It's little improvements and things like that which make using XY easier for ALL!!! Thanks a bunch!!!

But...a little :P ...I'd still like an option to turn off that keep-focused-in-view tweak!
