Noob question regarding Info / Preview Pane orientation

I have searched the forum but have not found any answers to my seemingly noob question, thus I'll go ahead and ask away.

Is it possible to move the preview / info pane to the right side of XYp (or otherwise display it vertically) rather than on the bottom? It would make it much easier for me to view previews of PDFs, etc. if the preview window were verticially oriented rather than horizontally.

there were numerous requests on this. currently it's not possible, but if i'm not mistaken, it may appear in future versions.

Well, I finally bit the bullet and bought an unlimited license and upgraded from 10.80 to 11.50. Has anything changed with respect to having previews on the side since 10.80? If so, how do I set that up?
