XYplorer hungs at intervals (refreshing root folder)

When I have my C:\ folder selected in a tab XYplorer sometimes
hungs and my hard disk is working heavily. It seems that XYplorer does some autorefreshing.

This occurs in intervals and is lasting approx. 3-4 secs each time.

I haven't Show folder sizes in file list checked in Configuration.
The systemroot is the only folder that behaves in this way.

Any clues..?

Well, a manager's got to refresh what a manager's got to refresh. Can't you see what is changed in that directory?

One of my subfolders to C:\ contains 1300 folders - maybe this can be one clue ;-)

I have tried to turn off Autorefresh on file system changes - no difference.

It can take sometime when expanding the folder containing 1300 folders in the treeview which is OK but i'm still wondering why the refresh (except file notfications) is necessary in the listpane? when the contents already loaded?

This is not a big deal - I'm only curious...
XYplorer is in all other ways superb

I made a short test and moved my huge folder to My Documents
- the problems disappeared more or less with my C:\ but instead
My Documents got the same behaviour.

PS.

For info - on my other computer I haven't this kind of problem with XYplorer. The main difference is the cpu.

Hm. If you turned off Autorefresh, then there is no autorefresh. So your problem must be something else. How many items are listed in C: root?

46 items in C: root when i hade the problems, one of these folders
contains 1300 subfolders

It might be the tree: if that node containing 1300 subfolders is expanded, for each of the 1300 a check has to be done whether it contains any subfolders itself.

I have expanded in the tree the folder with 1300 subfolders and the C:\ folder is selected the "C:\ tab" still does this "autorefresh"...

When I try to select a folder located near this giant folder in the "C:\ tab" XYplorer hungs for a while.

Make sure (again, just to be sure) that autorefresh is OFF (Conf/Adv), and (ALL!) Show Folder Sizes (Conf/Gen) are OFF. Then please turn OFF file info tips (Conf/Fie Info Tips).
If you know still have that problem, I'm pretty much out of ideas. Have you verified (via task manager) that it is really XY that is eating the CPU?

Aha! Interesting! Maybe you can play around with the individual items in the list box on Conf/File Info Tips and find out WHICH of the items causes the delay (or whether it's the File Info Tips themselves).

It seems that it is the file info property TreeSize which makes the difference
If all preceeding items (Name,Size.. etc) is checked in the list it works as it should, but if I check TreeSize I get this problem again...

Well, that looks quite logical when I think of the nature of the problem you had

Funny: I don't have "TreeSize" here in my list

Does anybody know why the items differ between different systems/configurations (I have XP prof SP2)??

I have tested the trial version of TreeSize Professional maybe it is this application which have added this category?
