Lightbox 2
I made an attempt to use the famous Lightbox 2 script by Lokesh Dhakar on my screenshots page. Does this work and do you like it? Note that you can even browse the shots by LEFT and RIGHT arrow keys, and exit by ESC.

Re: Lightbox 2
Here, Win7 family + Firefox 5.0, it doesn't work at all. None image is displayed.
Anyway I don't like that effect, it is too slooow and generaly irritating for me.
Please, do not use it

It looks good and is pretty darn fast here on XP using Firefox 9.0.1, Chrome 17.0.963.38 beta-m, and IE 8.0.6001.18702CO.
I like it!

Re: Lightbox 2
Works adequately here even on my ole W2K with IE6!
Some aren't large enough due to my 1024x768 screen size (I think) but no worse than other sites have for similar.

Still spending WAY TOO much time here! But it's such a pleasure helping XY be a treasure!
(XP on laptop with touchpad and thus NO mouse!) Using latest beta vers when possible.

Re: Lightbox 2
Works here with WXP SP3 + Firefox 9.0.1, as well as W7 SP1 + FF 9.0.1
The idea to group a sequence of pictures is good.
But I don't like the effect of the always changing picture-sizes - just disturbs the viewing...

Same configs as PeterH, so far so good.
I love the pixelated background!

Re: Lightbox 2
After having upgraded Firefox to v 9.01 it doesn't yet work (always Win 7 family with 2-screen), even after having desactivated all FF plugins.
Under IE 9.0.8112 it works, but it is slow as I said in my first post.
Will there be an option to desactivate that effect if you adopt it ?

Re: Lightbox 2
where is the problem - just open images in new tab and script doesn't matter.

Re: Lightbox 2
Thanks eil.
Semi good news : after open in a new tab, lightbox works now, even with FF.
But I find it very slow, as in each site which uses lightbox, not more, not less. The transition is slow, and redimensionning is slow.
Yet it should be possible to display such images in a wink, even in a html page, isn't it ?

Re: Lightbox 2
How much slow are these effects on your system?
Do you have intense background activities?
Sounds like there's something not right on your pc...

Re: Lightbox 2
Made some experiments, and the pixelated background clearly slows it down (no wonder!). So I will remove it. Sorry.Marco wrote:I love the pixelated background!

Re: Lightbox 2
At the bottom of http://www.xyplorer.com/shots-lbox2.htm there are some normal text links. They don't work anymore because they are intercepted by the lightbox script.
Does anybody happen to know how to handle this (and save me from diving into that lightbox script)?
