enable selection rectangle from right side
I recently switched to "full row select" list style and previously (i.e. without full row select) I used to select files by making a selection rectangle (left-click hold and drag on a unselectable part of list) over the files with the mouse, which now is not possible from right side end or is possible only from left line number column (which is like 5 pixels for me). Is it possible to make the right side also accessible to selection rectangle?

I don't think it is possible, as it goes against what "Full Row Select" is. When you enable this mode, you have quite a new way of dealing with the list, and what you describe is one of its "specifications"....
IMHO that "Full Row Select" mode isn't something really interresting (I mean as a "mode" in itself, not to do with XY), and with XY you can have every other line using a different color (Alternate Grid Color), and the focused row having its own (Highlight Focused Row), now this is great, real cool, effective, all one can ever need

I switched to "full row select" because in the "normal mode" it is difficult to visually compare the other attributes like ext, size, type etc with corresponding file name. This is mainly because the color of the focused row stays just on one file, while in the case of "full row select" i can see all the other attributes too when i select something in the name column.
edit: in my previous post i said enable selection from right side, by this i mean right side of the last column (the empty space).

If you really have an empty space at the right, then you should have space enough to make the Line column wider and use it comfortably for your drag selection.surrender wrote:edit: in my previous post i said enable selection from right side, by this i mean right side of the last column (the empty space).

Yes, Highlight Focused Row is ass-kicking cool -- I don't wanna live without it anymore!surrender wrote:lol.admin wrote:If you really have an empty space at the right, then you should have space enough to make the Line column wider and use it comfortably for your drag selection.yes!! you are right. Wider line column would do it. but i guess i am switching back to normal mode which like jacky said seems more effective.

OK agreed that the highlight focused row is cool. But still one needs to color or highlight selected rows because sometime you lose track of the attributes on the far right. I am posting a printscreen from my XY and frankly tell me how easy/difficult is it for you to read the accessed or modified or created attributes of the selected files. Do you know what I mean?? Here is an example. Just a suggestion for "highlight or color selected rows". In my opinion, if you do this you can get rid of the full row select mode.

Of course I do! And I gotta say the "Hightlight Selected Rows" looks pretty cool too, but I would suggest to add the color for that one in the config aswell, instead of using the Hightlight Focused Row (and make that last one overwrite the others)admin wrote:I hope you know that you can configure the color.
Reasons: I think its not so cool & can get a but confusing to have that FOCUSED row color used for SELECTED items too, especially because sometimes feature in XY will work with the FOCUSED item, so easilly knowing which it is is a big use for the Highlight Focused Row IMHO, but now when we got a selection, we lost that!
Worst, since they both use the same color you might think you have 5 items selected while only 4 are, the other one just happen to be the focused one....

Yes, I have seen the problem, too. I'm just experimenting...jacky wrote:Of course I do! Hmmmm...I, personally, don't really care for this change.admin wrote:Code: Select all
v5.00.0125 - 12.08.06 14:09 * Highlight Selected Rows: I changed it to just an underline to avoid clashes and confusion with "Highlight Focused Row". The color can now be configured in Configuration/Colors/Selected Row.
