I agree with this statement.jacky wrote:Regarding "RalphM's natural sort order for folders"I do not agree with him either, and actually whenever I sort by dates or sizes I really expect folders to be sorted that way aswell !
Sort folders apart vs sort order

Wow, eagle eye! I was curious if anybody would note it. Yes, I effectively added 2 pixels to the left of the Name column, but what I really did was fixing a little display glitch because it was only the Name column that had only 2 pixels space on the left and 6 pixels on the right, all other columns had 6 pixels on the left and 6 pixels on the right. So now all columns look the same.jacky wrote:But, it seems to me that with your new changes you also added a little space on the left of every item's icons on the list !! They used to be right on the left, and now there's a few pixels left blank![]()
Is that an on purpose thing, or?? Cause I really don't see why one would need that, feels to me like thoose little pixels are being "wasted"....
Now I can and will do a nice thing: reduce that space from 6 to 4 pixels left and right for each column. So each column will be 4 pixels smaller! This adds up to quite some space gained (also in comparison to all other file managers using Windows's ListView which is hardcoded to 6 pixels) while still looking alright and breathing enough air.
(No, I don't want to make this value configurable at the moment.

Thanks! That's *much* better for me!admin wrote:Turn it off now.avsfan wrote:So I guess I'm saying that I'm really looking forward to the option of being able to turn this behavior off!
Also, great job on shrinking the space around the columns while still keeping them readable! Yet another of the many things XY does that should have been done in the first place!
Thanks again!

Just to make sure: You mean "Thanks again in advance"... you have not seen the narrower columns yet. They come with the next delivery.avsfan wrote:Also, great job on shrinking the space around the columns while still keeping them readable! hmm... well, what you called a glitch I called it an enhancementadmin wrote:Yes, I effectively added 2 pixels to the left of the Name column, but what I really did was fixing a little display glitch because it was only the Name column that had only 2 pixels space on the left and 6 pixels on the right, all other columns had 6 pixels on the left and 6 pixels on the right. hmmm again. I think you meant to say you added 4 pixels!! They were only 2 before, and now 6. So that space didn't double but triple in size!!

Fact that my Name column in the top-left one might help, but heh, no one ever complained about it in years so maybe not!
