why there is no way to use mouse buttons in custom shortcuts? as CEA seems to be rather grand approach in development and won't appear any soon, such ability would open way to many opportunities!. as it will not only allow to remap current mouse buttons behaviour, but probably to make new combinations
why no way to use "mouse-shortcuts"?

What would be a "mouse-shortcut" for example?

Re: why no way to use "mouse-shortcuts"?
They are sometimes known as Mouse gestures, for instance in Opera:
http://help.opera.com/Windows/11.50/en/mouse.html
Firefox obviously has these:
http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Mouse%20shortcuts
Much of it is perhaps far fetched for a file explorer, but I have to admit that, being an Opera user, it happened to me more than once to do the following on a file list empty area in XY: hold right button and click left button (wanting to go back), since I use that so often in Opera).
So it is also my view that some of it would perhaps be nice to have in XY indeed, if easily achievable.

That's the problem: Freely configurable mouse shortcuts would be an enormous effort.Borut wrote:So it is also my view that some of it would perhaps be nice to have in XY indeed, if easily achievable.
CEA will come as close as it gets.

Re: why no way to use "mouse-shortcuts"?
no, i was not talking about mouse gestures -that is too much, from my point of view(still may be a good direction for future ideas). i was more refering to ability of change/make new "mouse-features".
for example, some time ago i asked you Don if it may be something done to implement easier-mouse-way to get to sticky selection - if there was an ability to change mouse-middle-click behavior i would just set middle button to that(like in xplorer2), and no problem
yet such implementation could allow to use more combination, like: left(hold)+right(click), left+middle, right(hold)+left(hold) etc. for the last one i have own crazy desire
well then, have to wait for CEA great arrival

it's pity that this is too much complicated to implement as "mouse customize"admin wrote:That's the problem: Freely configurable mouse shortcuts would be an enormous effort.

Re: why no way to use "mouse-shortcuts"?
I am also waiting eagerly for this CEA enhancement for mouse shortcuts, because I use Firefox heavily with many tabs and sessions (via the Tab Mix Plus add-on), and it's frustrating not to have the same mouse click behavior with XYplorer tabs as I have with Firefox/TMP tabs. I spend most of my computer time (and it's a lot) using either Firefox or XYplorer.it's pity that this is too much complicated to implement as "mouse customize"well then, have to wait for CEA great arrival
