Single-Click File Open

Post by NewUser »

Is there any way to configure XYplorer to open files using single-click. By default it requires the user to double-click the file icon.

Hi and welcome to the XY forums!

As I recall, it's because you need a click to select the item, so how would you select an item without opening it unless you also use double-click to open?

But also found via search this prior thread that was similar:

Still spending WAY TOO much time here! But it's such a pleasure helping XY be a treasure!
(XP on laptop with touchpad and thus NO mouse!) Using latest beta vers when possible.

I finally got soft, recognizing that this feature is really popular and having found a clever way to add it.

Wait for the next beta...

Is this a question, a statement, or whatever?

Please have mercy with all the forum members who try to follow all discussions by:
1. not double-posting wishes,
2. not bumping one of those threads (shamelessly) at the same time
3. nor make unclear statements like this one.

Thanks in advance
Ralph :)

Your statement is true. But, given that this feature has been wished quite a number of times in the recent years, and given that I now found a cool way to implement it, and uploaded it in short time, I expected something a bit more enthusiastic as a reply.

So, does anybody like it?

<- nope, useless stuff to mimic web browser behaviors (and ofc I think exactly the same for this function in the windows explorer)

I didn't like the idea at first because Windows's implementation makes the entire filename + icon work like this, which makes selection tricky. Having tried it just now, I do like XYplorer's take on it: to launch it, click the icon, while to select it, just click anywhere in the name part (a much bigger target).

I'll use this, actually.

tested it. same as nas8e9 didn't like that idea 'cause thought of Win realization of this function, but XY's realization is waaay better = Don made it "interesting" again :D i'm not telling i really need it, but in such realization i'll say it's a good addition.
 and as always thought of little tweak(or something) that could resolve conflict with Mouse Down Blow Up = delay timer for Blow Up.
