XY needs reviews

Post by admin »

Hi all,

XY badly needs reviews in/by professional media, i.e. especially well-known software sites and print magazines around the world. If you can do something in that direction, do it! In my experience, simply asking for a review is not enough. The usual reaction is: no reaction. If you happen to know the magic that activates professional reviewers, let me know. If your girl friend's brother is the chief editor of CNET, not bad either.

Thanks,
Don

Idea for discussion: wouldn't it be great to see XYplorer on Guinness Book of Records?
Regulars see at least a few categories it will fit in, i think. I recall I saw a technology special or something like that and they may still have plans on this direction too.
It would be good both for promotion of Don's work and some kind of an award. Sales, in consequence.
I kept this idea to myself for a long time now but seeing THE MAN asking for reviews changes the picture a bit.
New User's Ref. Guide and Quick Setup Guide can help a bit! Check XYplorer Resources Index for many useful links!

Guinness Book of Records??? :? In which category should XY be featured?

Being in a Reviews thread: Here are two recent statements of ignorance that compare XY with those free Explorer skins that don't do much more than look different than Explorer. If one of you happens to be bored, please post a review that makes clear that with XY you get something valuable for your money, stuff you won't get for free anywhere.

Wow, that's great promotion for x2 (though, on 2nd looks, the review itself is poorly done and researched). He deserves it, it's a very good app (there is no other competitor I would say this about). Although XY is much better, of course.

I think XY has a little disadvantage in this game because it is hard work to review (so many things to try out), and its virtues (which IMO are: automating the stuff that had cost you the most time before you discovered XY) are not easy to express by a list of catchy features.
