Maybe while copying config-files "from stick" with "XY on stick", some files were blocked ("in use")?
Or vice versa: copying config files with (un-configured) "XY on HD" from stick "to HD"?
Sometimes it seems this, other times that?

There is no problem with copying files-in-use as sources, but of course you cannot copy files-in-use as targets. So, when you use XY from the stick it can copy itself to the target hard disk without problems.PeterH wrote:Maybe while copying config-files "from stick" with "XY on stick", some files were blocked ("in use")?

migrating. I did it by downloading and installing the app on the new computer, thinking I could then bring over the license and config file. I posted when that didn't work. The FAQ got me reoriented, but there were the small glitches I've mentioned: folder names, and copying to an already installed version with XYplorer open on the receiving end (instead of the sending/USB end). Had I uninstalled the new one and just opened and copied the app from the USB stick, then only having to rename folders would have been the problem.
