MiniTree auto removal of non-exist drives
Can MiniTree be made to automatically remove non-exist removable drives/Flash cards?

Re: MiniTree auto removal of non-exist drives
I believe that the MiniTree is based on paths you actually used. So removing paths that no longer exist may go against that concept. However, I don't use MiniTree, so those who do may think otherwise.jsc572 wrote:Can MiniTree be made to automatically remove non-exist removable drives/Flash cards?

Re: MiniTree auto removal of non-exist drives
The behavior was changed to the current state:
Code: Select all
v8.40.0116 - 2009-09-30 12:33
* Mini Tree: The coming and going of removable drives was reflected
by the Mini Tree. Not anymore. Only explicit (user-triggered)
browsing or refreshing will add nodes to the Mini Tree, and only
explicit hiding will remove nodes from it.

Re: MiniTree auto removal of non-exist drives
Any particular reason the auto removal feature was removed? Honestly, it is annoying to see three or four external drives listed in minitree when they are not longer connected.

I think it was discussed here. No time to look now.

Re: MiniTree auto removal of non-exist drives
1 week ago my thought was the same: the removable drive mountings should be reflected in the MiniTree. On the one hand, MiniTree is like a hierarchical history, without size limit, so this kind of thing doesn't fit. On the other hand, now we have brilliant removable drives (group) button, so there is no need to hack minitree any more, we can see the mounting state of the drives.
But maybe a new context menu makes sense: "Hide unaccessible drives from MiniTree", so it wouldn't be against the concept, and would be a solution for jsc572. And if I think one step further, a "Clear MiniTree" function could remove all unnecessary (already deleted) folder from MiniTree, and the unaccessible drives as well. The latter would be very useful for me too.

Yes, while not sure if "Clear MiniTree" would be the best caption, something like this seems useful.LittleBiG wrote:1 week ago my thought was the same: the removable drive mountings should be reflected in the MiniTree. Keep in mind that this is similar to cleaning the Tags database, where you use "Edit Orphans", so it should probably be named likewise.

"Clear" implies more of a total reset so I'd suggest "Cleanup" instead.admin wrote:Yes, while not sure if "Clear MiniTree" would be the best caption, something like this seems useful.
Still spending WAY TOO much time here! But it's such a pleasure helping XY be a treasure!

Re: MiniTree auto removal of non-exist drives
According to this, I expected that my folders remain in the Mini Tree, especially at locked tree state. But my folders immediately disappear, when I disconnect my drive. Was the behaviour above changed? Or do I understand something wrong?admin wrote:The behavior was changed to the current state:Code: Select all
