Richgt click extraction with Winrar causes XYplorer to crash

Post by platanos »

Hi, I have XYplorer latest version and WinRAR 4.01 64 Bits in Windows 7 64 Bits. Most of the times when I right click in a compressed file and use the shell extension to extract a file (using WinRAR engine, not XYplorer own engine) XYplorer simply crashes (Windows shows a pop up with "XYplorer stopped working" and closes). Some other times it doesn't crash. I'd say it crashes 7 of 10 times.

I can easily recreate the error. Any clues? I'm lost   :( :|

try (un)checking options, extended, custom drag and drop menu.

its the only thing tht comes to me mind unless youre having problems due to non-

native support for x64 which may be not a case otherwise tons of other usrs should

be complaining already.

Thank you, I have unchecked it. Will report back after some time of use.

I think it did the trick. No more crashes since I unchecked that option. I'll keep fingers crossed.

Thank you Code Lobster.

3rd party shell extension are a known cause of crashes ever since. Usually these are products from rather obscure sources. I'm surprised that WinRAR appears to be one of them.

I have had the same problem today :(

WinRAR is the only 3rd party shell extension application I have installed. This bug is killing me :?
