Recycle bin

I don't use the standard Windows recycle bin. I use a much more powerful program, Undelete 2009.

XYplorer doesn't reconize this. If I delete or rename a file, then press CTRL+Z to undo, I get an error -- message says there are no files in the Recycle bin. That's correct, of course. They are in the RECOVERY bin.

I don't have any other software that has a "problem" recognizing where the recycle/recovery bin is and what it's called.

Is there a fix for this?

It's a bit difficult to say. When deleting a file in Windows Explorer and then trying to undo, that does work? If so, it may be that Diskeeper Undelete 2009 adds custom code to Windows Explorer, possibly (also) in the form of a shell namespace (which XYplorer doesn't currently support).

No, it doesn't work with Windows Explorer, either. Before I switched to XYplorer I was using PowerDesk, which DID support this. (But PowerDesk is having so many problems with Windows 7, and they aren't getting them fixed, that I -- after 10 years -- dumped the program and switched to yours.

So I have to deal with both an unlearning curve and a learning curve...

I have no idea how PowerDesk managed that where Windows Explorer doesn't: it seems unlikely that Undelete would provide special support for PowerDesk but not Windows Explorer.

My experience with Diskeeper products in general isn't great, to put it politely. Having said that, Undelete's functionality sounds very useful. Apparently, at least some of it is planned for Windows 8, but that's some way off...
