How do I get per-directory settings?

When I changed the columns that show, or changed the sort order of the display, the settings stick and work the same when I look at a different directory. Setting up general defaults, that's what I wanted. But now I want to set different settings for specific places. I can't find where this setting is.

Search for FVS (Folder View Settings) to assign different views to different folders and check your setting for "Remember List Settings per Tab" in Config / Advanced / Misc
