Make Shift-End not select extension during in-line rename

Out of my reach I'm afraid. This is an intrinsic KS of the Windows Edit control.

Often when doing in-line renaming of files, I want to get rid of extra stuff on the end of the filename.
When I press Shift-End to select this extra stuff before hitting Delete, it also selects the extension.[...]

Maybe this helps too as an workaround? (in case one doesn't know this)

1.)
Filename: New TextfileExtra stuff.txt

2.)
F2
Cursor right before "Extra"
Shift+End
Results in: New TextfileExtra stuff.txt

3.)
Shift+Ctrl+Arrow left
Shift+Arrow left
Results in: New TextfileExtra stuff.txt

4.)
Del
Results in:New Textfile.txt

Another solution would be to optionally show the rename box without the extension.

Another solution would be to optionally complete remove the extension from the rename box.

Hmmm, not a bad idea -- although not sure I'd go so far as to turn something like that on...

...and I'm afraid sometimes you want to change the filetype...
