replace Explorer with XY for special CLSID folders?

I would like to get near-complete explorer replacement. is it possible to change the default action for special locations on double-click off the desktop?

for now, i created custom icon'd shortcuts that do the following:

"/path/to/XYplorer.exe" Computer
"/path/to/XYplorer.exe" Network
"/path/to/XYplorer.exe" "Recycle Bin"

recycle bin is not great though because the icon state needs to change when empty or full. plus i lose all the context menu entries set up for each of those in the registry "Manage" etc...

Looks like XYplorer doesn't have enumeration or knowledge of a lot of these. I could not find the CLSID of the actual current user's Desktop anywhere (which also displays special icons). would be incredibly useful to have all these available right from inside XY.

suggestions, anyone?

Explorer replacement issues are system issues. The answer is usually in (editing) the registry. Maybe you find a way to achieve changing the default action for those special locations... I never found one.
