Never dismiss out of hand any new feature!

Post by aurumdigitus »

When going over the What's New for 9.5 gave a cursory look at Select Items... thinking there's a feature I'll never need.
This morning it proved indispensable. The only problem was getting it to work. Rounded up the files and mechanically tried to copy them into the dialog box with Control-C. Go go. :(

Went back, reread What's New and noticed the caveat to use Ctrl+Shift+P. Have been a registered user for two years and never used - or remember seeing - the File|To Clipboard|Copy Item Name(s) menu before. Clearly the aging process has begun.

As Don points out, if you have a use for Select Items... it is a killer feature.

Nice to hear. :D Also Ctrl+P (copy file with paths) is a command I use daily many times. And it would work with Select Items just the same as Ctrl+Shift+P.

BTW, Ctrl+C on files in the file list will never enable you to Ctrl+V into an edit box. It copies the files, not the file names.
