file rename order

Post by guster »

I generally sort files in reverse temporal order (newest at the top), but this reverses the sequence when I rename a batch of files (photo sequences reversed).

Is there a swithch to rename ascending/descending? Maybe from "filename <#1>" to "filename <-#1>" ?

For the record, I have older version 5.55...

No, it's always from top to bottom.

So, just manually invert the sort before renaming?

Would it be worthwhile to code a "sort invert" toggle into batch rename?

I don't think so. Manual resort is easy and less error prone.
