In the address bar, which showed (let's say) "D:\blah\blah\", I added "*.cpp" to the end, with the hopes that it would show only those files. That's one of the features I like about xplorer², and an otherwise compelling reason to use DIR on the command line rather than a GUI explorer.
The icon in the address bar changed from the folder to the C++ associated icon, but nothing else happened!
Going to the Address Bar help topic, I see that using the vertical bar character appears to be what I want in this case, and "|" and "?" do different things. I'll read up more on that feature.
But, I'm wondering now, what did my original line do? It set the icon, but didn't give any other affects. What feature is this triggering? Presumably it means something, or you would not need the extra character for one of the other effects.
