List view & Comments
Does there exist in xy a mechanism that gives a visual cue in List view as which which files may contain comments?

Since when do columns exist in the List view? Thought that was in Details.
Or has the summer's heat been too much for me.

But...back to issue...any way that the Comments could be seen via 'file tips' for that situation? And other non-comment col views?

Technically no problem, logistically bad timing. Bump later...j_c_hallgren wrote:admin wrote:uuuuuuuuhhh, yeah..., in that case the answer is "no".
I did a double-chk myself just to make sure because I use "Details" view 99.8% of the time...

Something in File Tips is not an altogether bad idea and is preferable to nothing. But the drawback would be you have to go to it to find the files with comments. As stated in initial post a visual cue that is always visible would be advantageous as it would "come to you".

I could do something with color filters... just need to invent a pattern (e.g /cmt) . But you still would want to see the comment, so something in File Tips should be done additionally.aurumdigitus wrote:Something in File Tips is not an altogether bad idea and is preferable to nothing. Re: List view & Comments
In its purest form it works out like this: Do not want or need to see Comments in Details view, just know what files have them. Then looking at the annotation via the Tooltip might be the perfect way to go.
For what it may be worth, actually had a dream about this last night. The file names with comments appeared in Italic font.

Italic is bad because it is sometimes hard to read and looks funny on screen.aurumdigitus wrote:In its purest form it works out like this: Do not want or need to see Comments in Details view, just know what files have them. But what do you think about the color filter idea?

Yeah, could live with that. Understand your reluctance on Italic but my xy does an aweful lot with color now. You'd have come up with something unique to really differentiate. But what do you think about the color filter idea?
