Change column width of all tabs

Post by nony »

I want to change the width of column of all the tabs. Is it possible like for views(using Shift), the current columns/widths to be applied to all tabs.

Thanks

Yes, with today's new tweak RetainListSettingsAcrossTabs. Other than that: no.

So it would enable to apply column widths on fly without restart?

The RetainListSettingsAcrossTabs tweak actually tells XY not to apply list settings per tab. The list simply stays the same when you change tabs

Cool. :D

Did anybody else test and like the tweak? I think I should raise it to UI level. To explain again what it does: You change the view to thumbnails, resize a column, hide a column, move a column, change the sort order, enable sticky selection etc etc... you do this in one tab and all other tabs of that pane will inherit the change immediately. No more per-tab settings.

I haven't tried it yet but I suspect I'll make use of it as I tend to prefer all my tabs to look the same...the only downside that I can see would be if I had one tab that is mostly images and thus thumbs would be better temporary view and other tabs are non-images, it seems it would not be possible to do that, but having the layouts be same otherwise is good.
Still spending WAY TOO much time here! But it's such a pleasure helping XY be a treasure!

Agree I would not want it to change views of all tabs. But i would prefer it to be done at once ...i.e disable/enabled at once.
