Use of id3v2 mp3 tag for renaming files ?

I have a lot of mp3 and I think it would be useful to be able to have the option to choose the id3v2 instead of id3v1 for the tool-tips, the special rename, the files preview...

id3v1 are too limited in string length

Is this already possible ?

No, id3v2 is not supported.

It would be a great thing if it would be supported in a future version as I have many files which use id3v2 ONLY so I have empty tooltips and no possibility to rename files by tags....

As I wrote about 2+ yrs ago in http://www.xyplorer.com/xyfc/viewtopic. ... 414#p21414:

Unfortunately, it's only able to do the more simple ID3v1 as the specs for ID3v2 (as I understood it) are not as defined and the lengths are flexible, thus requiring the module (UPD: module = the mp3 file itself) to change size whereas the v1 are fixed length and can be replaced easily.
