(1) RSS for latest betas? (2) shift+f3 focus for "#"

Post by vrtarifaachen »

Hi all,

1
Is there an RSS-enabled entry for beta versions?
http://www.xyplorer.com/xyfc/viewtopic. ... start=1710

I know about http://xyplorer.blogspot.com/ but it's not updated as often as forum. :(

2
Why is it that the character "#" does not focus when I push shift+3 (# on my keyboard). This is normal explorer behavior

3
Is there a script or some way to "send to/copy a SPECIFIC folder and delete original file"?

:oops: I'm the maintainer of that blog and it's my fault that it's fallen behind...I used to be able to keep it up to date daily but unfortunately in last couple of months, my "real life" has interferred, as I have a summer business that I have to get opened again and that, combined with my vision problem issues, and Don's sometimes extensive/numerous beta entries, have caused me to get backed up on that updating...most of the year, I'm able to keep up with Don, but twice a year, I relocate to other location and that always interferes for a least 2-3 weeks...so please bear with me and I'll try to do better in future, ok? However, it won't be until June 20th or so before my business is ready for season and my free time until then is quite limited.

Also, due to the fomatting differences between forum and blog, there is a fair amount of manual editing that needs to be done to make a blog entry and that's what takes the time.
Still spending WAY TOO much time here! But it's such a pleasure helping XY be a treasure!
(XP on laptop with touchpad and thus NO mouse!) Using latest beta vers when possible.

2.
Good find! Fixed in next version.

2.
Sounds like Move to me. Sure there's a script, for example:

Code: Select all

moveto "C:\Test\Target\", ":list";
This will move all selected list items to C:\Test\Target\.
Ask if you need more advice...

(1) No problem. It's a service to the community, so it's not expected in as much as appreciated.

However, wouldn't it be much easier/less work for all if 'admin' enabled RSS on that specific update thread and then allowed people to subscribe that that specific thread to see the updates?

(2) No problem. Glad to help. :)

(3) Move to is what I wanted. No need for a script. Thanks! May I make a suggestion? Please allow the user to also move to catalog folder. I see one can move to favorite and that works but does it make sense not to also allow a catalog move?
Right click > Move to > ***catalog*** >>> -target folder-

NEW--> 4 Is there any way to emulate the "Sendto" function? What I want to do is send a regular file (such as a .dll file) to an applications called "VirusTotalUpload.exe" . This programs automatically uploads the file to the web and scans with 20 virus scanners. I was hoping I would be able to *move-to* a "favorite-file" or something. EDIT: I know XYplorer leaves the SendTo explorer context function, but I was hoping for something portable. Is there a way to do this?

NEW--> 5 Here is my portable file association entry for .torrents

Code: Select all

btsearch;torrent>D:\Applications\uTorrent\uTorrent.exe
Whenever I open "debian-live-504-amd64-kde-desktop.iso.torrent" it opens uTorrent. Then I have to double click it AGAIN to make it open the torrent in uTorrent. Very annoying! Is there a workaround for this to make it open 'like normal'. You double click the .torrent file and it opens it inside uTorrent (and prompts directly where to save)

NEW-->6
Is there any way to have two different address bars for different panes?

NEW-->7
Is there ANY way to prevent the search tab from being locked in the first place?

NEW-->8
Is there ANY way to turn off the prompt "The last tab cannot be closed."?

NEW-->9
Is there any way to customize command prompt location? I use PowerCmd (BEST CMD SHELL EVER) for my command prompt.

BUG: Per the aforementioned bug about the "#" not pointing to it correctly when typing. I'm having that problem with a lot of letters randomly. :(
Thanks!

Thanks for your understanding of my situation!

Yes, it could help, but having the blog also: 1) Gives some more publicity to XY on the web; 2) Gives an alternative to searching for something in history; 3) Allows users to subscibe to updates via email

bump + new questions:

1) How do I assign Ctrl z for UNDO task (NOT re-open last tab) and CTRL-Y to undo/redo (NOT tabs)? Is this possible to remove the old keyboard association.

2) Anyone have a macro script to "send to", to a specific applications with a user defined keyboard shortcut?

1) How has ctrl+z become "re-open last tab"? Only by customizing the shortcut. Which you have to do again using menu Tools / Customize Keyboard Shortcuts.

2) Check out the User-Defined Commands / Open With.

Bump what? :)
