One does not need archive tools on XP or later as Zip support is included...and extracts it to a separate folder by default.

Thank you for your input.

1. Tar-bomb, a real word and a real concept.
Extracting to the current directory not only clutters it, but risks overwriting it with common filenames, such as readme.txt etc..

2. "Sub-bomb", an invented word which appears to me to have no meaning
Extracting to a subdirectory of the packer's chosing helps prevent any overwrites of existing files, and is commonly used by for example the packer specifying this directory as "xyplorer_9.20".

Thank you, come again (also everybody should have their mouse taken away from them for at least a month so that they could learn how to use a computer).

I invented "Sub-bomb" for undesired creation of subfolders by archivers.

And I've had that happen, and then had to move all the stuff where I wanted it cause I couldn't seem to get it done via the zip pgm...this was with other software, not XY.
Still spending WAY TOO much time here! But it's such a pleasure helping XY be a treasure!
(XP on laptop with touchpad and thus NO mouse!) Using latest beta vers when possible.
