Icon nearly invisible when minimize to tray
Icon nearly invisible when minimize to tray
I love the minimize to tray feature and the subsequently added small right-button context button. But when minimizing to tray, XY's icon changes from a legible orange to a virtually invisible light yellow color (which makies the "XY" virtually illegible). Could this be changed -- maybe darkening the tray icon somewhat or adding small black stripes to the light yellow color or whatever?

The cause of the problem was never determined.

Something is wrong with your tray. Or is XY's Icon the only one that looks weird?j_c_hallgren wrote:FYI: I'm running W2K...and as noted, the icon showing in tab in taskbar with pgm name is fine..just not when in tray...
I looked at the other thread...so...I have True color 24 bit active...plus "show icons using all possible colors" is on...
Perhaps the XY icon's near invisibility in the tray has more to do with the particular background color of each user's system? My tray's background is W2000's classic grey, which evidently doesn't have adequate contrast for the XY tray icon's washed-out yellow. An easy solution could be to simply darken the icon's color a bit.admin wrote:The next version will have a 24-bit icon instead of a 16-bit. Maybe it helps.

The orange should be FF9900 (RRGGBB); well just identical to the icon of the app's main window.sklain wrote:Perhaps the XY icon's near invisibility in the tray has more to do with the particular background color of each user's system? Maybe someone could send me a screenshot of that "invisible yellow"?

Yep, it appears your tray supports just 4-bit (16 colors)! There's no way to have a nice orange in 4-bit, so: aaarghh!j_c_hallgren wrote:I just sent you one via my JCH Yahoo email...easier to do that than upload for linking here..
I have 2 XY's running...one minimized and one active so you can see all three icons: title + taskbar + tray
Notice the difference?

Could you maybe add a few tiny parallel black stripes to the icon, which would thereby automatically darken it somewhat when it went to the tray?admin wrote:Yep, it appears your tray supports just 4-bit (16 colors)!
