Hide Disk

Post by MiltR »

In the left-hand panel my machine shows a number of disks that are never used, or very rarely.

There are several removable disks for card readers, etc., which are not active unless a card is inserted in the media slot.

In addition, the FACTORY_IMAGE disk shows up.

Can these be hidden from viewing on the left side as a default behavior?

Milt

You mean show only drives that exist/are available? And show them automatically if a media is inserted?

The DVD drive would always have to be visible but the other removable drives, yes, they would appear only if media were inserted. The FACTORY_IMAGE drive, assigned by me to Y would never need to be displayed in the XYplorer.

The mini tree was like this some time ago. But it was changed due to user wishes. :) I will think about it... (lo prio though).

In all the dozens of tweaks, is there anything that relates to this? I looked but didn't see anything...or the vers/timeframe when this was changed?
Still spending WAY TOO much time here! But it's such a pleasure helping XY be a treasure!
(XP on laptop with touchpad and thus NO mouse!) Using latest beta vers when possible.

No time to look for it, sorry. The general and valid idea was that the mini tree should never auto-add any nodes.

I think you're thinking of the tweak for the Drives menu:
; Tweak: set to 1 to show only available drives in Go | Drives...
PopupAvailableDrivesOnly=1
