Opening XY with viewer on PDF document

Welcome back, I hope you had a pleasant holiday. Now a couple of things to keep you occupied!!!

Close XY with viewer pane open and focus on a PDF file.

Re-open XY and if I'm a little too impatient and try to close the viewer pane before XY has displayed the PDF document I get:

Run-time error '340':

Control array element '1' doesn't exist

and XY closes.

If I wait until the PDF file is displayed I cannot close the viewer pane using F12 because focus is on the document. Alt+V to get to the menu produces a flash of something on the screen, which is too fast to read. The PDF viewer is Foxit but probably applies to Acrobat as well.

I can get focus back using the mouse.

I seem to remember a similar situation with HTML documents some time ago where they grabbed focus. Not a problem, just something for you to do after your holiday!

The document just happened to be called "Problems.pdf"!!!!

Perhaps if I gave you the right information you could reproduce it!.

I hadn't realised that I had "Show folder sizes in file list" on. The folder I was looking at had a large number of sub-folders and hence it was busy calculation folder size when I pressed F12 to close the Info Panel. That is what causes the error 340. I suspect other keys might also cause the problem. Trying to open the Info Panel while folder sizes are being calculated also causes the error. It only seems to occur when the folder sizes are being calculated immediately after XY is started, changing folder and pressing F12 while calculating folder sizes once XY is running does not produce an error.

The viewer taking focus has nothing to do with it. That looks as if it is a Foxit problem and I will try to check with Acrobat later. It's not serious but the closing of XY is more of a problem, especially for impatient users like me!


Edit: Try a mouse click on the menu when folder sizes are being calculated - it's even more interesting!!

I'm pleased that you find my program interesting. Should I disable all menus while folder sizes are being calculated? No, that would be too boring, wouldn't it?
