accessing hidden folders without showing them

Post by likwidsix »

i'd like to access hidden folders by typing their location in the location bar, but without first pressing (ctrl+shift+h) or having them displayed. is there any way to change the way xyplorer handles this?

the error i currently get is:

"you opted in configuration to now show hidden items"

which is correct, i dont want to show hidden items, i just want to access them

any ideas?

Interesting find.
I too would expect to be able to access hidden folder by typing the folder name into the address bar,
like with WinEx, even if i would had "opted in configuration to now show hidden items"
But since i didn't had opted this... it's no matter for me.

Hi and welcome to the XY forums!

Now having said that, I'd like to point you to a very similar thread for only about 10 days ago at
http://www.xyplorer.com/xyfc/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=4796 which I easily found via Search of 'first post' using keywords: hidden + folders...and this one from Jan with some more info at http://www.xyplorer.com/xyfc/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=4584

Thus, I'd ask you politely to please do some basic research before starting a new thread so that we can keep the forums a bit cleaner and more organized...now sometimes I can't find a matching thread either but a quick scan for likely keywords usually works reasonably ok.
Still spending WAY TOO much time here! But it's such a pleasure helping XY be a treasure!
(XP on laptop with touchpad and thus NO mouse!) Using latest beta vers when possible.
