I used to have custom buttons that called two commands:
#642 - Empty Recycle Bin
#641 - Open Recycle Bin
Now, I can't find any toolbar options about the Recycle Bin (new or old) and the two buttons just hang XYPlorer until I kill it.
What am I missing?

The buttons hang? Cannot reproduce this. You should get an error that the command does not exist.
I removed the commands in v8.70.0154 - 2009-12-21 11:45.

Not the button, the whole app hangs. I have to kill it with Task Manager.
Haven't kept up with the changes you've made. What's an alternative to emptying the recycle bin with a single click?
You are doing a fantastic job btw.

- What code have you written inside the button?iryx wrote:Not the button, the whole app hangs. I have to kill it with Task Manager.

- Right-click the recycle bin in the tree, then "Empty recycle bin". Ok, 2 clicks.
- Thanks!

The only thing the custom button has is:
On click: #642
May I ask why you removed the command, it was very useful.

You should see an error like the attached image. I cannot see how this button could make any further problems.iryx wrote:The only thing the custom button has is:

Well, I removed them because the recycle bin is now an integral part of XY. But you are not the only one who asked for bringing the command back. I'm quite surprised by this. I half-empty my recycle bin maybe twice a year, and I only take out the oldest stuff. I can take the 2 clicks necessary to do this easily. What's the use of emptying the recycle bin daily with a single click -- I really don't get it.

Re: Empty Recycle Bin and Open Recyle Bin in 8.80.0300
Here is my scenario where emptying the recycle bin is very useful. I have an automated download and extract process that gets a lot of rar, zip or whatever other files. After they are done, the files get sent to the recycle bin and I can empty it daily depending if I need the space. Sometimes I have to open the recycle bin to make sure files I wanted were not deleted. Either way, it's not a big deal but it's a nice feature to be able to empty the bin with a single click.

I only use the catalog, and even if i can put the recycle bin in it i dont have a right-click ->empty recycle. That s the whole point of bringing back the recycle button.
And i empty my recycle bin bvery often because my admin put a too small main partition for my win7 and i dont have the time to change it ...
