Can the visual filter be locked?

hi,

I find myself using visual filter more often but I'd like to have it so that as I navigate through the folders I only see the extensions I've filtered for. Is it possible to have it so that no matter what folder I go to I only see eg Excel or only Word? As far as I can see any filter I set up is removed whenever I move to another folder.

Yep, right-click the visual filter toolbar button and check "Persistent visual filters ...".
