Hi,
it's been a while ago that I was a regular visitor of this forum, and I have to admit not having used XY for some time (even though I have a lifetime license), instead relying mainly on that monster file manager from down under.
But after a recent update to XP SP3 the Australian behemoth has become excruciatingly slow on my machine (even more so than before), for no apparent reason. That, and the ridiculous upgrade pricing of the Ozzie boys, made me revisit XY.
And it came as a pleasant surprise that in the meantime, not only dual pane view has been added, but also an exotic request from myself has been fulfilled. Thanks a lot, Don!
But there is another feature that I've grown accustomed to, as I use it very often, and it's called "flat view, grouped". It will give you a view of all the contents of the branch, grouped into folders and subfolders and the files they contain. It's quite essential for me at work, since I have some structures where multiple log files in subfolders go by the same name, and it's easier for me to see 'live' what's going on and where to look for an error when watching the changes of those files in said 'grouped' flat view. See the attached screenshot from DOpus (oops, I said it).
I understand that something similar has been discussed here a few years ago, and that one can do a (crude) workaround with "Show all items in branch" and then sorting by path first and name second, but I'd really prefer a graphical representation.
Any chance we might see that feature any time soon?
Regards,
Alex

Re: Flat/branch view, grouped
Looks like a big waste of space.
But not that difficult to do. Only that I have some other things to do as well. It's something for the end of my roadmap...

Re: Flat/branch view, grouped
Another, much shorter view would be to omit the data in the first column, and use the "location" instead. Here the lines for the folders would not be necessary. Maybe a change in path (not an extension, but other (sub-)string) could be optically separated.
(This is not meant as a replacement, but as another view...)
