migrating tags and comments didn't work out

Post by rachka »

Hi!I recently installed Windows 7 x64, and my previous version was Xp x64.Before installing the new OS I saved the tags and comments settings as tags.dat. along with all other settings. Then when I installed Windows 7 I substituted the files from the installation directory of xyplorer with the backed up files.But... nothing happened. The tags didn't show. But all other settings worked well. Please will you help me with this because I have a huge .pdf library and without these tags its a total mess.Thank you!

I'm not aware of any migration problems here. I would even say migration problems are impossible because of XYs independency of the OS and fully portable data structures. One could say: there is no "migration" with XY. It just works wherever it is copied to.

My first hypothesis would be that your data paths (where you PDFs are) on the new system are different from those of the old system?

But theres another problem... when i size the columns, scroll the side bar or make an empty selection on empty space with the left mouse button, there is very annoying message popping up saying "Nothing to copy" and this drives me nuts because its something I do often. As if the program see these actions as "copy".Any ideas?Thank you!

:? :o uh. Anything wrong with your mouse? Did you program your mouse button to copy to clipboard or so?
