Using Batch Rename in search results

Hello,

I'm not quite sure weather this is a bug or intentional, so I'm posting it in the tips & tricks section.

I sometimes want to rename all files by a specific name to a different name, where most of them are in different folders. I approached this by searching for the filename and tried to rename them. The only way I could achieve this was by using search and replace, but from the description it seems like batch rename should also allow for this, or do I misunderstand this?
Concrete example: I wanted to rename all "Cover.jpg" files in my music collection to "folder.jpg", but the preview from batch rename showed a list with appended numbers (like folder-01.jpg). Is this intentional? It seems to contradict the help text of the Batch Rename dialog, which implies to only use numbering if the file without number already exists...

All examples are applied to Test.txt (dated 2008-Aug-25) on 2008-Oct-23.

Simple syntax:
New = New.txt (New-01.txt etc. ... if New.txt exists)

lol... I didn't check the version changes, just grabbed the latest beta
Took two days or so till I needed that feature again (by then I had updated again) so I never even noticed
