Never mind. I just tested it. That is awesome! Thanks thanks thanks!
So, what was it? I'm curious? I'd like to know for future reference how to get that overlay index properly.
Also, a few things I have noticed, some of which I don't know if there is anything we can do about.
* Tortoise SVN seems to "know" when it needs to refresh each files icon overlay index. It only does the update when you have an instance of Explorer open, and navigate to a folder which has source controlled files in it. Once, that happens, Tortoise will kick off a sub-process to update all of the indices. This happens automatically, just by virtue of Explorer being open. I don't know if there is anything we can do to get Tortoise to kick off this update if we have XY open and viewing a folder in the same way. Right now, I can kinda get this to happen manually by hitting F4 to refresh the Folder Tree
* I was able to get the overlay to completely disappear for a folder on the folder tree, and have it be out of sync with the same folder in the file list. I modified a shot, hit F4 and the tree updated propertly. I then unmodified the file (undid the changes and saved the file again), hit F4 and now the overlay for one of the folders a few levels up disappeared (I think it was the selected item when I hit F4). I will try and reproduce.
[EDIT] I was able to get the overlay to be restored by hitting CTRL-F4 to rebuild the tree.
* Sometimes, the wrong icon shows up. For instance, that + icon is showing up instead of the red x (modified) icon at the top level folder whose sub-sub folder has a modified file in it.
[EDIT] CTRL-F4 didn't fix this one
More to follow...
Thanks again.
