Mouse Blown extension

Post by nony »

Since I got thumbnails working on my system now would like to have a feature for mouse blown to show image fitting to screen size with one mouse button and original size with different button.

Huh? When you say "mouse blown", do you mean MDBU?

Presuming such, you do know that the standard convention is that a right-click displays a context menu where you can change the tick/toggle related to how left-click acts, right?

Now given that I don't have a true mouse on this laptop, I don't know what the middle button does in this case and/or if that could be used for this purpose.
Still spending WAY TOO much time here! But it's such a pleasure helping XY be a treasure!
(XP on laptop with touchpad and thus NO mouse!) Using latest beta vers when possible.

Firstly i don't know the abbrev. So don't know what exactly you want to say.
My point was in thumbnail view if mouse blown is enabled then both the left click and right click do the same operation, i.e, shows the image in full resolution. I want to say it would be better if one button could show image that fits current window dimensions/resolution and other shows like it currently shows. Ok?

It's not the same operation. After right-click the zoomed preview stays open when you release the mouse button.

Thanks didn't noticed before :P
Anyway still think it would better to offer scaled image then viewing the cropped image.

I'll try again...There is no such thing as "mouse blown"...There is, however, MDBU (Mouse Down Blow-Up) and which is most often used via the IP (info panel) but can be accessed via thumbnail view as well...it was the IP variant that I was referring to in terms of context menu, as it wasn't clear initially what you were talking about...at least to me, it wasn't, but I was guessing IP MDBU.

See this for some common XY terms: http://88.191.26.34/XYwiki/index.php/Glossary

@nony: Don't know if you already know this but if you open the Preview Tab in the Info Panel you can make a right click on a previewed image to get a context menu. Here you can choose "Shrink Larger Originals to Fit Window (Mouse Down Blow Up)". With this setting enabled the image will shown scaled (for both mouse buttons).

However, it's not possible to define a left click as "full resolution" and a right click as "fit window".
OS: Windows 11, 64-bit, Version 25H2, Build 26200.8655 (10.0), AMD64
Monitor: 1/2 (Primary) Primary Screen DPI: 96 (100%)

Maybe Don would consider this as I don't see much difference currently for the two buttons.

He already pointed out the difference:

Ok I must admit it's upto the user preference.
