Mine is typically less than that...You can see the exact time on the bottom of "Startup & Exit" section in Config...for some unexplainable reason, restarts of XY seem to take a bit less time than the first time in a given boot session...but the simple way I avoid even this delay is to keep XY running constantly except when I have to close it to install a new beta vers! And as I use it that much, I couldn't do without XY being active anyway!
Nice - thanks for that! I just did some timings on 8 restarts (no reboots) and i think I overestimated. In seconds:
2.183, 1.804, 1.785, 1.667, 1.540, 1.447, 1.891, 1.663
So it's not toooo bad

I do have a legacy platform i.e. 2.0 GHz athlon on a 5+ year old Abit NF7-S mobo with 1.5 GB Ram which might be the cause of it.
That's more modern than mine!

I have a 1GHz Pentium III Mobile on a 7 yr old Dell with 512MB...but then again, I'm running a matching old OS: W2K!
LOL and here I am complaining about my system. Still on W2K hey

That is one nice OS! It was actually the only OS i enjoyed migrating towards. I went from Win95 -> Win2K -> XP -> Win7. So I missed out on Win98 and Vista completely. W2K is just so clean. No fuss. Sleek. Was a pain to move to XP, as is the move to W7. I might move back to XP. W7 seems slower, glitchy and painful at times.

XY is a keeper! It's really that good that its now going to be my replacement for Windows 7's win explorer. Better than all the win explorer products i've looked at e.g. directory opus, xplorer2 etc.

Very glad to hear that! We think it's better than the others as well, and a critical part of that is the community here in this forum! Don't be a stranger, so please visit daily, ok?
Yep I've noticed that people are very helpful and friendly here; more so than other forums, nntp threads etc i've accessed. Will do

And thanks again!
