Doing some work here, it occurred to me that it would be nice to have a formatted (at least minimally) report of all my Catalog and UDC's and I don't know if any such ability exist now...yes, one can see the details for each item but there are times when having a "hardcopy" (even if in a PDF) would help to see what you've got setup and maybe help locate any errors that exist.
I didn't create this as a wish as it might be possible already...
Ability to print formatted report of Catalog, UDC, etc?

Not possible currently, but I had always planned to allow the INI format as an alternative. I like INI because it's human friendly. The disadvantage: it would load a bit slower.

Could an INI be created via a "Save As" or "Export" or similar for this usage and possibly others? So one could have the time savings of DAT but the friendlyness of INI as well?

Sure, if I add this feature.j_c_hallgren wrote:Could an INI be created via a "Save As" or "Export" or similar for this usage and possibly others? So one could have the time savings of DAT but the friendlyness of INI as well?

Re: Ability to print formatted report of Catalog, UDC, etc?
That's fully understandable, and you know how long we've had the Catalog and I'm just now posting this wish so I'm obviously not in any real hurry!admin wrote:Sure, if I add this feature. But that's more than one line of code, and it will have to wait until some other stuff is done...
It was another thread here where it seemed that having a way to review (and possibly even edit) these files might help rather than having to use Properties and such on each entry.
Would saving it in INI vs DAT directly be only one line of code or so? Or would that involve almost as much extra as doing a "Export" type?

Good idea. I would like this.j_c_hallgren wrote:...

Me too has visited all locations and copied all scripts and there settings
to an text file for backup and sharing between XY instances.

So we could share UDC's by copy&paste from/to ini
