Text File Preview

Post by jacky »

Hey,

So seems that your text file preview has a little bug for text files when they have mixed types of line endings, both Unix & DOS conventions (LF vs CRLF). (Actually, I guess it'd be the same with mixed CR & CRLF, and CR & LF too probably)

It does say Ascii-Unix/DOS on the right but doesn't count the number of lines right, for example it says 9 lines when there are actually 383 of them, and I can't see the whole file.

Seems that it uses 9 to define the Vscroll, but for example it show line 2 on many lines, therefore I can't scroll... (if I show lines number, I have #1 for line one, #2 on line 2 (how impressive :P), but no numbers for the other lines as it sees them as "part of" line 2.

Off-topic, I'm starting to use the favorite files lately, and I think the "Toggle favorite file" menuitem would make more sense on context-menu (like under Rename Special) than on the ctxt menu on a blank zone of the treeview (which is very unnatural for the toggle option).

2 times yes.

Remind me again when the XY thing is done... the migration takes a little extra-work...

So now you start cross-quoting! Smart trick, but it won't make me faster. :)

Allright so I'm bumping this, cause the bug when previewing files with mixed types of line-endings is still there, and quite annoying as I simply cant preview files then :?
I'd love to see it fix :D (and, I'd still love to see the toggle fav files on the ctxt menu of a file too ;))
