Panes Menu - Additional items

Post by aurumdigitus »

When 8.3 ships how about adding to the Panes Menu two items:
Move Tab To Other Pane
Copy Tab To Other Pane

The rationale for this is to allow easy access via implementing a KS.

Yes, it's planned.

BTW, I now think that when copying a tab the focus should stay on the source pane. Right?

That is hard to answer as it depends greatly on the work methods of the user. For me, when copying (or moving) to the other Pane I go to that Tab right away.

So nobody thinks copy should leave the focus here? Please vote for me!

I don't foresee or think I would use this very often, but when I did, it would seem to be similar to "Open in new tab" when one rt-clicks on link in browser, and it that case, focus jumps to the new tab...which puts my vote with the others above.
Still spending WAY TOO much time here! But it's such a pleasure helping XY be a treasure!
(XP on laptop with touchpad and thus NO mouse!) Using latest beta vers when possible.

I voted for you already :)
When i would use DP i'd go to the target pane only when i decide to (i think of copying / moving a tab mostly as backup: get out of my way! :D )

Too late. Let's see if more demand for the (now) old way emerges...
